Read For Life

Read For Life is the cornerstone of our local service. Our colorful trailer serves as a mobile library at community gatherings, distributing free books at schools like Smiley Elementary. A local Eagle Scout once collected more than 3,200 books for the program — a wonderful example of how Redlands rallies around literacy.

  • 3,200+ books collected in a single community drive
  • Mobile library trailer at local events
  • Partnership with Smiley Elementary and area schools

Local Cleanups & Beautification

Members have adopted a half-mile section of the Orange Blossom Trail, regularly trimming trees and clearing trash — and we even commissioned a mural for our stretch. For our 30th anniversary, the club rehabilitated the fish ponds at Ford Park so the community could enjoy them for years to come.

  • Adopted half-mile of the Orange Blossom Trail
  • Ford Park Pond Rehabilitation (30th anniversary project)
  • Commissioned mural along our adopted trail section

Honduras & International Service

While we are rooted in Redlands, we take our share in Rotary International’s global work. Members contribute to End Polio Now, ShelterBox disaster relief, and projects in Honduras that bring clean water, new schools, and vocational training to rural villages. It is service that saves lives and changes communities far beyond our own.

  • Clean water and sanitation projects in rural Honduras
  • End Polio Now campaign contributions
  • ShelterBox emergency response support

Youth Scholarships & Leadership

Every year we award thousands of dollars in scholarships to graduating Redlands seniors. We sponsor students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) and PRYDE, support Interact at local elementary and high schools, and partner with the Rotaract Club at the University of Redlands. We also run mock interviews at Redlands High School and host an annual Four-Way Test Speech Contest.

  • Annual scholarships for graduating Redlands seniors
  • RYLA & PRYDE leadership sponsorships
  • Interact clubs, Rotaract at U of R, and mock interviews
