About Us

Neighbors. Friends. People of action.

Since 1984, the Redlands Sunrise Rotary Club has been a dedicated force for good, combining professional fellowship with a hands-on approach to solving challenges — both at home and around the world.

Our story

Founded in 1984. Rooted in Redlands. Ready for the work ahead.

The Redlands Sunrise Rotary Club was formed by members of the original Rotary Club of Redlands and other local community leaders who wanted a new chapter with an early-morning meeting time. It was officially incorporated as a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation on June 29, 1990.

As a chapter of Rotary International, our club is part of a global movement of more than 1.2 million members committed to creating lasting change. Locally, we belong to District 5330, which unites clubs across Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.

Our meetings are held weekly on Wednesday mornings at 6:45 AM at the historic Burrage Mansion — a venue that reflects our deep roots in the Redlands community and our commitment to service.

Our guiding motto

Service Above Self.

Our club embodies Rotary’s principal motto: Service Above Self. This ethic is the driving force behind the diverse projects we take on — from local cleanups and literacy campaigns to support for global health initiatives.

It is a simple idea, and a challenging one. It asks each of us, every week, to look up from our own lives and notice what needs doing around us.

The Four-Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. 1Is it the TRUTH?
  2. 2Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. 3Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. 4Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
A global network

Part of Rotary International · District 5330.

Our district connects Sunrise with fellow clubs across Southern California’s Inland Empire — unlocking larger projects, shared resources, and regional training events.

Seven areas of focus

District 5330 unites people of action to work on sustainable projects in Rotary’s seven areas of focus:

  • Promoting peace
  • Fighting disease
  • Providing clean water
  • Saving mothers and children
  • Supporting education
  • Growing local economies
  • Protecting the environment

Leadership at Sunrise

Our club is run by volunteer members who serve in rotating roles — president, secretary, treasurer, and committee chairs for service, membership, fundraising, youth, and community projects.

If you would like to meet the current board or ask about serving on a committee, drop by a Wednesday meeting or send us a note and we will make introductions.

“Sunrise is as active as ever — an amazing group of people: never tired, full of ideas and of energy to put those ideas in practice.”
